What is the difference in burning a cd and having a cd pressed?

My band is planing on putting out a split on cd. And one of my bands mates wants to know why we should press them and not burn them. I know some reasons are quality and what not, but there has to be more info.

    Quality and the wear and tear on your CD drive. You don’t want to end up needing to replace your CD drive if pressing isn’t that much more expensive. Also look at the time it would take to burn CDs. Pressing is more economical as far as time and use of equipment.
